Creative Plagiarism

29 September 2009 No Comment

So in a recent search of the internet I came across this ad from the WWF that is strikingly familiar to AT&T’s new mobile campaign that is running nation wide at the moment.

When does creative recycling become creative plagiarism?

I know that BBDO has recently been in Communication Arts recently with this campaign in the illustration annual and I am sure there are other awards attached to the campaign. Is this fair? I know things get reused a lot, but sometimes you have to call it how it is and say man someone already made that. Give the original person the credit and media attention. I’m sure the boys and girls over at Saatchi are not happy with this either.

What is your view point?
