Blog on a Blog

My friend Michael just started this blog: http://additionaldrawings.wordpress.com/
He’s a writer here, but also a crazy person who makes these awesome illustrations. The picture is one of me. (Nice.)
I would describe him as a little scary, a little nasty, a little funny and a little disoriented. All together – He’s a lotta brilliant! So check out a few of his sketches. He’s been adding new ones every other day or so, so if you like them, check back and see what’s new.
I’ve learned two things maybe more, I’m not sure) from …

Self Promotion for Creatives

A friend of mine just sent me this link the in the beginning of this week and I thought everybody should take a look at it. It’s a blog for ALL KINDS of creative people – freelancers or not – and it gives tips on how to promote yourself in such a competitive market, how to stay on top of your things. It talks about the best networking websites and everything else you should know…
Anyways, check it out for yourself: http://www.redlemonclub.com/

Raise your hand if you know where Yemen is.

Earlier today, I honestly believe I had lost faith in all human kind. Then I rediscovered this guy I went to high school with way back when. He is now in Yemen directing a program to help people physically disabled due to mines, nutrition or congenital deformities. And it all came back. (Thank you Facebook.)
He keeps a blog where he documents his life in this isolated country and how eye-opening the experience has been. I was really impressed that a young guy, who I’d say, has lived a pretty sheltered …

Real Writer

I generally follow blogs because they’re a great way to waste/pass time at work or, sometimes, because they have some inspiring material… But this blog, well, I actually really like it. It’s a combination of some of the ‘real world’ exchanges and what appear to be very random thoughts. The author is an amazing/creative/hilarious writer. It’s nice to see what someone can create when they are no clients, no editors (maybe not?), no rules… Etc.
Anyways, I like it a lot: http://www.27bslash6.com/overdue.html

Chew on This and Tell Someone.

Food Inc. blew my mind last night. Watch it immediately! If you have read Omnivore’s Dilemma this documentary brings the business of food to life. The people that are affected, the experts, and the advocates for change all bring this to a close, human level. You will feel the pain, you will taste the corruption, you will consider becoming a vegetarian but, most of all you will have an aching urge to immediately tell everyone you know about what you just watched. Because, that is the only way to fix …

John Mayer | Augmented Reality

Ok, people are really trying hard to make something cool out of augmented reality, but I guess it hasn’t happened yet.
John Mayer, that is known for being a kind of a computer geek (besides Hollywood Don Juan), is coming out with his 5th album “Battle Studies” and prepared a really cool use of technology for it.
The first thing was his blog (http://www.johnmayer.com/battlestudies/) then the free download of one of his songs on his website.
Now I saw on Facebook the release of his new video “Heartbreak Warfare” in augmented reality. It’s not a new …

What do you like?

Someone put this compilation together of things that people in our “industry” like. (I think it’s too funny to call it, “the industry” hence the quote marks.) Enjoy and add yours by twitting to @tmplove

SUBNORMALITY!

Things are busy in my neck of the woods. Which is why this post is gonna be a little stripped down.
This guy’s online comic = HAHAHAHA-HA
Name: Winston Rowntree
Funny Comic: Down at the Supermarket
They are brilliantly written, startlingly observant and insanely creative.
SUBNORMALITY!
Just keep hitting “previous” until you can’t take it anymore.
Then get yourself a juice-box, water that dead-ass plant, and get your face-plate to his BLOG.
Okay, back to work.
Sprinkled with random trips to my freezer for brief stare sessions.
