Absolute Bullshit

26 April 2011 No Comment

Last week REVOK was arrested at LAX.

REVOK is a notorious graffiti artist who has painted all over the globe and is currently featured in the Museum of Contemporary Art’s, very successful “Art in the Streets” show.

The Los Angeles Police have been complaining about the show since before it opened and the timing/methods used to apprehend the artist implies the two things are probably linked. I’m assuming this is intended to serve as a warning to LA graffiti writers but I really don’t understand how. No kid scaling a billboard with a backpack full of spray paint is concerned about being busted in the manner REVOK was.

It’s a hollow gesture.

Completely meaningless public pandering.

I’ve attached links that go into more detail but at the time of writing this he had been sentenced to 180 days following a ludicrous $320,000 bail.

Bullshit.
