I told my high school career counselor I wanted to get into advertising. She told me to get a Marketing degree.
So I spent the next four years at Virginia Tech learning about everything about the 4 P’s, living the college life and becoming a die-hard Hokie. This track ended in a boring government paper pushing job.
After a few years I decided I needed to get back on track, so I packed up, moved to L.A. to attend the Art Center College of Design.
While looking for the “Big Break” I interned at the previously defunct and recently re-opened Crispin Porter + Bogusky LA office, a couple short freelance gigs at local agencies and worked many design jobs from concepting and illustrating event posters for the L.A. Zoo to designing thick product catalogs. Looking to strengthen my creative methodology, I also spent time in the Push Workshop.
Luckily the break finally came in a couple year stint at TBWA Chiat Day L.A. where I worked endless hours and learned the pros and cons of advertising. Currently I’m working the freelance circuit and trying to find a balance in life through finding my own fine art calling, catching up on pop culture through Netflix and practicing martial arts on anyone who won’t beat me up too much.
