Stay Awesome Buddy.
Sometimes our jobs can be exhausting.
We don’t sleep enough and when we do, our dreams are haunted by unsolved projects. My personal favorite is going to sleep with a fresh little marketing conundrum and waking up around three in the morning CONVINCED I have just figured it out.
Done.
Nailed it.
I make a few scribbles in my bedside notebook, mentally congratulate myself for being a ninja, and sleep soundly for the remaining hours. I greet the morning like a bluebird and stare blankly into my open Moleskin.
What do I find?
The absolute dumbest shit I’ve ever read/seen/heard about.
Totally irrelevant. Complete nonsense.
Oh well.
At the end of the day, we get paid to sit around and think. Which is a pretty decent way to make a living.
A while ago I made a “daily checklist” for myself to ensure I kept some semblance of non-work related normalcy. I promptly forgot about this list but discovered it tonight buried in my Notes app.
I encourage you to make your own. I also encourage you to try and keep up with it instead of finding it almost a year later and then exploiting for a last minute blog post.

hahahaha
Lofty goals, but good ones.
I always ask my kids at the end of the day, what’s the best and worst part of their day. As routine as my days get, kids under 10 amaze me with what happened. Good and bad. It is a platform to be a good parent and have a dialogue.
I like your last minute posting. Unfortunately, I only qualify for a couple on your lost checklist with this response. But 2 out of 8 will have to do. For now.
Thanks man.
PS: Dom Casual still lives! Unfortunately.
You know, the iPhone has other fonts for notes now. You aren’t forced to use market felt any longer.
MIMS!
Yeah that list is totally a daily wish list. I like the best/worst approach. I was reading something that described how we mostly remember the bad parts of repetitive actions instead of the positive, more common/mundane ones. So your method keeps a nice balance.
@Lauren
Good to know. But I’m still rocking a 3Gs and I opted not to install the newest OS.
Not a fan.
Thanks for the tip though.
Leave your response!
