30 rock hit its 100th episode this past week. As a loyal watcher since episode one, the show already goes down in history as one of my all-time favorites (along with Arrested Development). I read (and wrote about) Tina Fey’s new book last week and I saw Alec Baldwin interview Doug Liman at the Tribeca Film Festival last night, so I have had 30 Rock on the brain recently, even more than usual.
However, 30 Rock is a tricky show to do a top 10 list for, which I realized fairly …

Call me an elitist. Call me apathetic. (I really don’t care.) But I spend my days and weeks at an advertising agency writing advertising copy and solving clients’ advertising problems; I don’t need to spend my remaining free time watching ads too.
However, on the rarest of occasions, someone who obviously doesn’t know me very will send me a link or mention a spot to me. Usually, I ignore it. Like when my coworker told me to watch the M&Ms “Hostage” spot. And I don’t have cable so I didn’t see …

I just started my first improv classes this past weekend. Not as bad as i thought it would be. It was full of lots of business folks that “wanted to get better at presenting to clients.” I have to admit that I’m doing the class for that very same reason but also because I want to try something new creatively and to have a fun activity on the side.
There are several aspects of improv that actually carry over into advertising and vice versa like coming up ideas quickly, making people …

Yes, by now this is probably old news. And I don’t even know if this commercial is new to begin with. But has anyone seen this IKEA commercial? I was sitting in my couch the other night, waiting for all the crappy ads to pass by, tuning out and thinking about food when this ad popped up and actually made me laugh. This doesn’t happen often, so I had to share. This is the only video of it I could find. Youtube isn’t as stocked as I thought.

Again and again and again people talk about “The Creative Process”, but I’ve never seen it discussed like this. This quirky video at the L Studio starring humorists Starlee Kine and Arthur Jones will at least make you smile. But then again, I’m just percolating here hehe.
The L Studio is Lexus’ way of promoting the arts. I think this is their social awareness side? Wild guess here.

The funniest website in the world. Seriously.

This site has been making the rounds lately and honestly I wish I had come up with it. The idea itself is brilliant. It’s “a collection of e-mails [he’s] have sent to people who post classified ads. [His] goal is to mess with them, confuse them, and/or piss them off.” And he sure does. Be prepared to laugh your ass off. Warning: spit out your gum/food. I would hate to have someone choke and die from my first post.
Here’s a couple you should check …
