They say, do what you love and the money will follow. But as ad people, we have to know that it’s not that easy.
Some of us like to think, historically myself included, that having a strong book is good enough. But if Chad Ochocinco and Paris Hilton have taught us anything, it’s that we have to brand ourselves.
Heads of agencies are in charge of creating a culture where good work can flourish. And a big part of this is piecing together the right people. They are looking for you to …

Joaquin Phoenix finally gives away what the hell he was doing trying to rap and looking like he was on lsd the whole time.
Almost 2 years after started being a weirdo he comes out with what everybody kinda knew already, a documentary directed by Casey Affleck. “I’m still here” comes out September 10th and still nobody knows what its about.
I don’t know about you, but I’m interested to know what all that HUGE marketing around him and his personal life will bring.

Yesterday I hopped on The Langster and rode down to the movie theater where I saw Exit Through The Gift Shop. I must admit I didn’t pre-watch anything about this documentary. I just knew it was about Banksy. Everyone knows Banksy and if you happen to not be everyone, google him immediately and become everyone. You will laugh, you will be confused, you will laugh some more and you will leave with the thought, “Wait, who is this guy again?” and “SNAP! I want to escape the cops and make …

I am sorry but I recently read that people are getting suicidal after seeing Avatar.

I personally saw the movie and thought it was visually stunning, the story was OK too. Heck I might have even daydreamed about my wife painted up in blue jumping off messed up looking dino-horse things. But it definitely didn’t make me want to throw myself off the Golden Gate Bridge.
Being an Avid movie watcher and connoisseur of the darker side of films, I present you a list of truly depressing movies that will make you …

Sometimes I worry that advertising is a useless, money-grubbing industry and that working in it is a waste of time and energy and that my life would be better spent raising free-range chicken or something. While that may be true I have yet to prove that I have something to offer the industry this documentary may prove that advertising can be important/artistic/culturally relevant. It’s good to remind myself that, just like pretty much everything else, advertising is just what you make it.
I¹m excited to see it.

Food Inc. blew my mind last night. Watch it immediately! If you have read Omnivore’s Dilemma this documentary brings the business of food to life. The people that are affected, the experts, and the advocates for change all bring this to a close, human level. You will feel the pain, you will taste the corruption, you will consider becoming a vegetarian but, most of all you will have an aching urge to immediately tell everyone you know about what you just watched. Because, that is the only way to fix …

In Rob Reiner’s timeless classic, “This Is Spinal Tap,” the fictitious 80’s hair band falls from grace – going from sold out arenas to opening up for a puppet show at a county fair. In the Sundance hit documentary titled “Anvil: The Story of Anvil,” Anvil is just as disfunctional, naive, and clueless as the characters Nigel Tufnel and David St. Hubbins of Spinal Tap. But sadly, Anvil is entirely real and they’d be lucky to share a marquee with puppets.
They were lauded by Slash, Motorhead’s Lemmy and according to …

I watched “Chopper” this past week. (According to imdb, “Chopper tells the intense story of Mark “Chopper” Read, a legendary criminal who wrote his autobiography while serving a jail sentence in prison.”) It’s intense, I agree. And funny, perverted, gruesome… It’s a pretty good movie.
Chopper claims that he’s a homicidal maniac – with like 19 murders under his belt. The best/worst part of the story is that he can only prove that he’s killed one person – and that was in self-defense. So, he’s basically just a crazy guy who …
