I think it’s useful to see how things work. It helps me appreciate what I’m looking at and it also lets my mind wander to areas of creativity I wouldn’t have found on my own. Like, prisms – they’re awesome. They bend light, guys…mindblowing. Needless to say, I was stoked to learn how the animation was conceived and executed for the music video of “We Come Together” by Goldfish. It’s inspiring and daunting at the same time. Look at just how much effort was put into this 3:00 little movie …

I’m pretty sure these Bud Bowl ads were the reason I was chopping at the bit to get my hands on both of these weak suds (although I’ve recently warmed up to Bud Light for economic reasons.) But between these anthropomorphic bottles, Spuds McKenzie, and Camel Joe, my generation was doomed. But looking back I can’t believe the impression these beyond corny spots had on us. I still catch myself reenacting Billy Bud’s march into the end zone on bar tops everywhere.
Not only did these ads plant the drinking …

I spend a healthy amount of my recreational time drinking beer and eating food with friends, coworkers and strangers from every feasible walk of life. At some point, a lull in the conversation always happens. When this occurs I try to throw out a hypothetical question with no correct answer. Something in which everyone can participate and (theoretically) debate on an intellectual level, in a minimally competitive environment.
The most generic question I ask is…
“If you were sent to a deserted environment, (island, mountains, whatever you want) and you were allowed …

I like days when I discover new, random and very interesting music. It has happened twice so far this week. One was last Saturday. On of my close friend had just arrived from a long vacation in the Domincan Republic and since I’m going there for a few days I asked her what’s new in the “bohemian circle” we tend to gravitate. She told me about this new artist called Rita Indiana. She fuses traditional Merengue rhythms with a touch of Electronica. Something very peculiar and unique. Definitely something new …

Ok, people are really trying hard to make something cool out of augmented reality, but I guess it hasn’t happened yet.
John Mayer, that is known for being a kind of a computer geek (besides Hollywood Don Juan), is coming out with his 5th album “Battle Studies” and prepared a really cool use of technology for it.
The first thing was his blog (http://www.johnmayer.com/battlestudies/) then the free download of one of his songs on his website.
Now I saw on Facebook the release of his new video “Heartbreak Warfare” in augmented reality. It’s not a new …

Next sunday, October 25th, YouTube will have its first live concert transmission. Straight from California, U2 fans are gonna be able to watch the concert from more than 15 countries.
Also the U2 channel (youtube.com/U2) will have Ads (of course) and a button so people can donate money for the RED campaign on which Bono is the ambassador.
Streaming starts at 8:30pm, Pacific time and it should be really cool for everybody to watch. I’m not the biggest U2 fan, but their huge productions always kick-ass!!

I just bought tickets to the screening of Michael Jackson’s This Is It movie (or should I say, the compilation of rehearsal videos put together by people who want to make even more money from his death). In any case, I’m very curious to see how they put this together. It’ll definitely be a thriller.
Enough has been said about his life, so I won¹t go into that. Not every story is Black or White. But so is the life of a smooth criminal. It¹s still pretty sickening that people just …

I love hip-hop. I love ALL hip-hop. I love the classics only slightly more than I love terribly simplistic radio rap, and everything in between.
At a happy hour with coworkers last week I was asked to identify my favorite rapper. Which led to a mini-rant as to why, (based mostly on the number of amazing remixes), I had probably listened to Jay-Z’s black album, (or variations of it), more than any other hip-hop album in this decade.
It was a weird question to answer as I don’t really play favorites when …

First blog entries are like first impressions, if this isn¹t awesome I¹ll stay sitting at the bar by myself and you won¹t ask for my number.. Or in this case RSS feed. But what important insight can someone who¹s been working for a few months possibly have?
Then a little birdy told me I could talk about music. So here¹s my controversial music entry:
Oasis is the best band in the world. Period. End of story.
