I spent the majority of my childhood reenacting scenes from Star Wars. I’d either be scarfing down Hostess Ho Hos like the hideous slug Jabba the Hut or pestering my Hebrew school teacher with my Torah readings as Yoda. Wherever I went, I adapted a Star Wars scene to my surroundings. The beach became Luke’s home planet Tattooine, on a snow day in Buffalo we were fighting the empire on Hoth, and my first kiss – I was likely imagining a make out session with Carrie Fisher.
