paletteOne of the great things about this industry is the number of talented creative people you’re constantly around who are continually doing interesting and creative things. Like my friend TJ Walthall, an art director at Ogilvy NY, who recently launched his New York Color Palette: http://tjwalthall.com/colors/

TJ (who’s also damn good with a camera) took photographs in several Manhattan neighborhoods, reduced them to thumbnails and compiled them on an interactive map. You get a sense just how colorful New York is, and how much it varies from neighborhood to neighborhood.

It would be great to see this thing spread from city to city, for those industrious enough to tackle it. TJ thinks so, too, and intends to put a downloadable template for his interactive palette on the site soon.
